A beautiful natural bath ! Natural swimming spots in Drôme

From its source at Batie-des-Fonds, in the Upper Diois, the river Drôme flows for 130 km to join the Rhône, past many outstanding sites, such as the Claps de Luc (rock climbing), Diois vineyards, Glandasse mountain, Les Trois Becs (mountain peaks), the Tour de Crest (medieval castle keep) and Les Ramières Nature Reserve.

The river does not present any particular difficulties and has a regular current which carries you gently along. It is suitable forcanoeing and kayaking trips ranging from 6 to 45km.When the snow melts or after heavy rain, the more challenging waters which result are appreciated by thrill seekers on rafts and hot-dogs (2 person inflatable canoes) or for water hiking. Well behaved and restrained in summer, the Drôme is more like a seaside resort, its banks attracting many holiday makers who come to sunbathe and swim in the calm, cool water.
